Así, leyendo con voz grave aquel pasaje bíblico, comenzaba una de las canciones más grandes de la historia. Y ahora que se cumplen, además de mis 22 años hoy, 7 años de la salida del Dance of Death, consideré justo dedicar una entrada a tan curioso grupo.

Ese verano, recién salido el disco, lo compré, tras algún tiempo en el que Iron Maiden solo había sido un puñado de mp3s con sus temas más conocidos. A partir de ahí, alea iacta est. El disco sigue hoy fundiéndose de dar vueltas, en el mismo discman donde lo escuché por primera vez, en las lejanas tierras de Irlanda. Los maiden, ya que todo buen heavy sabe que los grupos preferidos siempre empiezan por "los" y nunca sin el artículo, se convirtieron en EL grupo, y luego están los demás. Sí, vale, para mí y para medio planeta más, pero bueno, bien de muchos...
¿felicidad de tontos?

Así que aquí dejaré unas canciones, una pequeña selección de un grupo en el que cada disco merece la pena por sí mismo, sin importar que todos suenen parecido (al fin y al cabo, todos son de Harris), un grupo que ha marcado notablemente mi vida, y la de mucha otra gente... Por eso, desde esté blog solitario y pseudosnob, por un día puedo dejar la charlatanería barata de protofracasado y gritar de nuevo...
